Zhejiang to restrict traffic during 3rd WIC
Public security departments in cities across Zhejiang province are planning to impose measures to restrict traffic flows in the run-up to the 3rd World Internet Conference, which will be held in Wuzhen on Nov 16-18.
The tighter restrictions will mainly affect roads around Jiaxing and Tongxing, as well as some expressways in Jiaxing and Hangzhou, and are designed to ensure the safe and smooth flow of traffic during the conference.
Vehicles carrying dangerous cargo, including guns and ammunitions, fireworks and firecrackers, highly toxic chemicals, and radioactive substances will be prohibited from entering roads and expressways in Jiaxing, except the Jiaxing sections of G92 (Hangzhou Bay Ring Expressway) and G15 (Shenyang-Haikou Expressway) from Nov 13 to 18.
Trucks, three-wheeled vehicles and tractors will not be allowed to use the beltways around Tongxiang city during those dates, with the exception of the Second East Beltway, Second South Beltway, Second West Beltway and Second North Beltway.
Medium and large trucks, three-wheeled vehicles, tractors and other low-speed vehicles will also be forbidden from using several other roads in Tongxiang between 7 am and 9 pm on Nov 16-18. These roads include Wuzhen Avenue, Jiahu Road and Yanhu Road, as well as the Second East Beltway, Second South Beltway, Second West Beltway and Second North Beltway.
Traffic on roads in the Wuzhen area will be restricted between 7 am and 9 pm from Nov 13 to 18. Trucks, three-wheeled vehicles, tractors and e-tricycles will not be allowed access to Liandu Road, Jiahu Road, Yanhu Road and the areas surrounding the canal during these periods.
In addition, temporary traffic control measures may be implemented between Nov 15 and 18 based on real-time traffic conditions on the following roads: S2 (Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway) Hangzhou section; S12 (Shanghai-Jiaxing-Huzhou Expressway) Zhejiang section; S13 (Lianshi-Yuhang Expressway); G15W (Changshu-Taizhou Expressway) Jiaxing section; G2501 (Hangzhou Ring Expressway); G60 (Hangzhou Ring Expressway) Hangzhou and Jiaxing sections; G92 (Hangzhou Bay Ring Expressway) Hangzhou section.
Drivers should be careful to follow these rules and listen to the instructions from on-duty policemen during the conference period.
Those who need to access to restricted roads for important work- or wellbeing-related reasons can apply for an entrance and exit permit from the traffic police department of Tongxiang public security bureau.
