One of China's most famous ancient towns is set to connect with the future as the 3rd World Internet Conference comes to Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province in November.

Co-organized by the Cyberspace Administration of China and Zhejiang provincial government, nearly 1,200 cyberspace tycoons and officials from governments, international organizations, corporations, technical communities and non-governmental associations across the world will participate in the event.

This year's discussions and exchanges will be centered on Internet economy, innovation, culture, governance and international cooperation.

Che Jun, acting governor of Zhejiang, visited Wuzhen to inspect the preparatory work for the Internet Conference on Oct 8 and 9.

Che visited Zhejiang's big data exchange center, Wuzhen Internet hospital, volunteer service stations, Wuzhen Internet International Conference & Exhibition Center and a high-end tourist resort in the area. He also looked into the application of information technology, conference service, venue construction and environment renovation.

Che stressed the importance of President Xi Jinping's speech at last year's Internet conference and praised the preparations of the working group for the summit.

The World Internet Conference has provided an important national platform for developing new economy and boosting the transformation and upgrading of the economy.

Che said that Zhejiang companies should be participants instead of visitors, and use the platform to generate interest in information, talents, technology and capital.
