Chairman Jiang Zengwei: three features of the B20 summit

The 2016 B20 summit is scheduled to take place on Sept 3 and 4 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, alongside the G20 summit. Jiang Zengwei, chairman of this year's B20 and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), introduced the three features that will be discussed at this year's summit, at a press conference on Sept 1.

High level

Jiang Zengwei said President Xi Jinping will attend opening ceremony of the B20 summit and deliver a keynote speech. As a representative of business industry, Jiang will present a B20 policy proposal report in 2016 to President Xi.

In addition, leaders from Argentina, South Africa, Turkey, Australia and Canada, and heads of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and World Trade Organization will be present at the summit.

Governments and organizations attach great importance to B20 and look forward to getting some useful ideas and improving the governance of global finance.

Large scale

The B20 meeting will bring together 812 business leaders from 32 countries and 26 international organizations.

Zhejiang entrepreneurs, including Jack Ma, make up 10 percent of attendees. Focusing on a multilateral trading system, trading facilitation agreement, the establishment of the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) and other topics, delegates will offer a wide range of suggestions and advice.

Multiple activities

Aside from the opening ceremony, the B20 summit also includes the release of the 2016 B20 Policy Recommendations, four workshops, sessions associated with G20 and the closing ceremony.

Leaders from G20 members and business representatives will be invited to workshops for face-to-face discussion. At the closing ceremony, the G20 presidency will be officially handed over to Germany.
